Real Estate Market Update - Glassell Park, Los Angeles

real estate marketTo say this summer has been busy is the understatement of the year. We're currently in the middle of remodeling 2 properties, one in Carson and the other in Temple City. Additionally, this week I sold a property in La Puente and purchased another in Los Angeles. The property in LA is in an area called Glassell Park. Glassell Park is a diverse neighborhood filled with a unique mix of charming craftsman homes, ultra-contemporary new construction, and complete fixer-uppers.

When I check the monthly DQNews.com Home Resale Activity Report, I always like to check out the areas that I am working in. So, let's see how Glassell Park, Los Angeles is doing:

In June 2014, 26 single-family properties sold for a median price of $540,000, which is $65,000 more than the county median of $475,000. The sale prices were up 10.4% from June 2013, which is fairly consistent with the rest of LA which is up 8% from 2013. The cherry on top is Zillow.com predicts that the home will appreciate by about 7.5% over the next year.

Looks like Glassell Park is doing just fine. In fact, it's doing great! If you want to see how other cities are doing, click here.
