Type “house for sale” into Google and you’ll see more than 500 million (yes, million) results. Homes for sale not only in your local area, but in places all over the country pop up, making it tough to even know where to begin. Many of these results are sponsored ads that guarantee certain listings to show up at the top of the search page.
Now imagine this is how people are trying to find your house for sale. Even if prospective buyers restrict their search to their local area, they’ll get millions of hits and the vast majority of those are websites with official MLS listings. That means if you’re trying to sell your home on your own, the Internet is going to be a very challengingplace to draw attention. So how do you get your “house for sell” into the spotlight so you can get it sold and move on with your life?
You have a couple of options – you can choose to do all of the marketing yourself: yard sign, online classified ads, social media networking, and if you’ve got the cash you can pay a service to get your home listed in the MLS. Of course on top of all this, you’ve also got to know how to handle the transaction once you have a buyer, all the laws and regulations, etc.
