Before & After in Altadena, CA

140415-houseslope-stock.jpgWe purchased this Altadena property in the fall of 2012. It was on a very quaint street, which Altadena and Pasadena are full of. Neighborhoods in these areas are famous for their character, so we had our work cut out for us.

The project went relatively smoothly, with the exception of the countless city inspections that took place. Getting a simple permit sign-off on a new heater turned into getting permits for numerous items, including fixes we didn't even do (the past homeowner did them years ago).

One of the most frustrating hiccups were the two front windows, that again we didn't touch, being called out for being a couple inches too high and too narrow. We had to cut into the wall and move them (literally 2 inches) down.

And of course, these windows weren't standard size so we had to custom order them. Luckily we have a great, and patient, crew that bent over backwards to get the job done. The house went pending within a week of listing it!
